Stay Home Kitesurfing Movies
Following the government guidelines we have decided to pause all our lessons from March onwards. It looks like the lockdown might last good few weeks but we are hoping to resume kitesurfing lessons in Scotland in some shape or form as soon as the government will allow us to do so. Having said that – as soon as we’re allowed back on the water we’ll resume the lessons in full force!
Sadly, this season has started with a nasty virus that’s ravaging through Europe and even though Scottish midges managed to keep even Romans at bay, they might not be enough to stop the spread of Covid-19. We’re sincerely hoping that all our current and ex-students will adhere to the self-isolation measures. Outdoors can wait a while – they’ve always been there and we’ll all get back on the water when this is over.
In the meantime, have a refresh of some of the Rules Of Way here – they might come in handy when you hit the water next. I mean, try to just hit the water, not others – make sure you know these rules by heart. We’ve updated them recently too as there were few tiny incidents on our local spots that we didn’t particularly liked.
Also, all kitesurfing lessons vouchers have been automatically extended by 6 months – but we will keep them flexible for 2020 and 2021 as we know how much havoc this current situation might cause in peoples’ lives. We sincerely hope that this will make your lives a bit easier. So, don’t stress out – we’ll get you on the water and riding when this storm blows over and when you’re ready to go.
We have also compiled some awesome kitesurfing movies to watch when you’re recovering from your new exercise regime. Let’s go!
1. Chapter One – by far the best kitesurfing movie made to date. Amazing visuals, locations and filled with stoke that will keep you going for weeks! If you’ve been to one of our trips you might’ve seen it already but it won’t hurt to watch it again. And again. And then few more times. We’ve got it on the loop… pretty much all the time. Check it out on RedBullTv here!
2. Value of Nowhere “This was a fun project because it questions the value of disconnecting socially and putting yourself in a remote area for a while. This is very relevant to the situation we find ourselves in right now. We are all being asked to isolate ourselves from each other and this is causing people to really commit to the things they value. The irony of the current situation is that forced isolation is making people connect more than ever through technology and social media. So it’s a double edged sword. Technology is not all bad. Nothing is absolute.” – Pete Cabrinha
3. Cape Town Confidential – look behind the scenes and see what professional riders are doing when not directly on camera. Some of the best riding you’ll find that will keep you stoked for hours!
4. Disguise the Limit – for pure laughs if nothing else – loaded with some of the world’s best riders!
